Gosia Sikorska
I am a social worker, NVR practitioner, yoga teacher, and fitness instructor. While this may sound like a lot, these roles naturally overlap and support both my professional and personal life.
I completed my Master’s degree in Social Work in Poland in 2005 and have been practising in England since 2011. Alongside this, I have become a part time fitness instructor of Les Mills classes, such as Body Balance in 2015, followed by Yoga Teachers Training (200h) in 2019 and Yoga Therapy for Children and Young People (350h) in 2021/2022, and lastly NVR level 1 and 2 in 2024 (currently completing Level 3). I am also in the midst of the Rhythmic Movement Therapy International (RMTI) training, which continues to bring all these approaches together.

Yoga
In this session we will focus on a gentle yet powerful mind and body break. During this time, we will explore awareness of your posture and physical body, noticing thoughts, sensations and distractions within body and mind, connecting it all together with understanding and regulating your nervous system.
I use a blend of: gentle movement and body-based practices, breath awareness, elements of yoga and rhythmic movement and trauma informed and nervous system-focused approaches. There is no need for a yoga mat or a lot of space, all can be done sitting on the chair and if you can lie down comfortably that’s a treat.
How this links to NVR:
Non-Violent Resistance emphasises presence, self-regulation, and responding rather than reacting, especially in moments of stress or conflict. Within the NVR course, I introduce short 5–10 minutes practices, reading the room and adapting to support learning and engagement. These brief interventions help create space for reflection, reduce tension, and strengthen the capacity to stay present during challenging conversations.
