Linda Hafez
A London-based psychotherapist, family practitioner and therapeutic supervisor. I trained in Non-Violent Resistance 13 years ago and, in 2014, began taking NVR into schools in Greenwich as part of my commitment to making NVR accessible to all parents, staff and children to support change in families. At the time, I had teenagers myself and I knew this was a model that needed to be shared with all parents.
Last year, I decided to create an NVR app alongside my husband, who is a software developer, so that parents could access practical NVR tools wherever they might be. The app grew out of my continuing commitment to making NVR more accessible once the group space has finished.

The NVR Companion App
The NVR Companion App puts NVR tools directly into parents' hands, on their phones, as part of their
everyday lives. It is designed to move NVR beyond the group room and into the home, offering longer reach
and lasting engagement rather than short term, reactive, crisis driven support.
What the app offers parents (free):
A Learn section covering all core NVR topics with short video introductions
Interactive Basket Builder to prioritise behaviours (red, orange, green, rainbow)
De-escalation toolkit with grounding exercises, breathing timer, and personalised calm-down scripts
Daily mood check-ins
Supporter Network Builder to map their support circle
Additional tools (premium):
Guided Announcement Writer with rehearsal mode
Sit-In Planner (before and after reflection)
Reconciliation Gesture Generator and tracker
Parental Presence Planner with weekly challenges
Compassionate Letter to Self
