Over the past seven years, we have been delivering training in Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) to multidisciplinary teams across CAMHS, initially within the NHS services in which we worked and now through our independent partnership supporting other services. Our work has evolved from offering introductory practitioner training to supporting services to adopt NVR as a whole-system approach and clinical model.

Conference Workshop

From Training to Transformation: Enabling Paradigm Shifts within Individuals, Teams and Organisations through NVR

This workshop will explore what becomes possible when NVR moves beyond a parenting intervention and is embedded within service culture, leadership, and organisational practice. Drawing on our experiences within NHS CAMHS, including inpatient settings and wider service developments, we will share stories of system change and the practical adaptations we have made to our training model to support this shift.

We will outline how NVR training can act as a gateway to broader cultural change, and how services can move from practitioner-level learning to leadership engagement and service-wide implementation. We will also reflect on our evolving roles: moving from driving change within services to supporting systems to develop their own sustainable NVR-informed cultures across teams, families, and partner systems such as

schools.
