Conference Workshop
Shame Sensitive NVR
Understanding shame, its role and impact is crucial to our understanding of behaviour and, in particular, violent and self-injurious behaviour.
As the master emotion there is nothing stronger than shame as a motivation for action however, when not understood or accounted for in our interactions can have extremely negative effects in our attempt to improve relationships.
My presentation will explore how small changes in language and approach can significantly improve safety and secure positive outcomes.
